Cliff and Cassie’s wedding was a true joy to photograph not only due to the beautiful location of Khimaira Farm, but because I grew up with them and was able to share the day with not only the couple, but many of our old classmates.
Khimaira Farm is known for its beautifully rustic nature, and is the perfect location for an outdoor wedding.
We did photos before the wedding itself, during which Cassie was adventurous enough to let me boost her on top of a large hay bale for a unique, fun shot!
Capturing the first glimpse the couple got of each other was also a special moment – while Cliff was adorably jittery, Cassie was the picture of poise and elegance, and you could see the love and excitement in their eyes as they beheld each other at their best for the first time.
We then proceeded to do family and wedding party photos. Hairstylist Lindsay Wood and Makeup Artist Whittney Nauman did beautiful work; the entire party was radiant.
Among them was the maid of honor, Amanda, whose wedding I had the pleasure of shooting previously at Shenandoah Woods.
As the bride arrived, gliding down the aisle in her Da Vinci dress, it was clear that the room was filled with not only the love between the bride and groom, but also their family and friends.
After a beautiful ceremony, the reception began, which also took place at Khimaira Farm. Tri Spring Catering provided a delicious dinner, and the guests dance the evening away to entertainment by National DJ Connection. None of this would have been possible without the coordination of planner Britinie Fitzwater, who kept the whole event moving seamlessly.
Cliff and Cassie also had the Same Day Slideshow for their wedding, their guest enjoyed seeing the images from the day during their reception.
Overall, it was a beautiful day at Khimaira, and shooting a local wedding with friends is one of my favorites experiences as a photographer.
