In talking with them to find a meaningful location to hold their engagement session, I noticed how close they are keeping their important memories as they plan their wedding. Their wedding will be exactly one year from the day they got engaged. Their first date was at the National Harbor, so that is where I suggested we go to shoot their engagement session.
This was also a great time to use the Prophoto B1 lights again. I knew they would add beautiful light and create the depth and dimension I would be going for.
We met by the statue of “The Awakening” and shot in a few different locations as we moved toward the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center.
As we arrived at the Gaylord, it was time for a wardrobe change. I like having images in different outfits to give a greater variety and create more emotion. They opted to change from Friday date night clothes into their hometown baseball team, the Washington Nationals, jerseys.
We then got a fantastic image by their wall of windows; an iconic spot at the Harbor.
In their Nats gear, we moved back toward the water and the Capitol Wheel for some sunset shots. I was able to get some amazing colors for them not only from the sunset, but also from the ferris wheel.
Best wishes. We are excited to see your wedding come together and even more excited to share your wedding photos, video, and guest photobooth pictures with you afterward (it’s going to be a busy day).
