Oh, the play-within-a-play. Probably made most famous by William Shakespeare, Michael Frayn does it in Noises Off. Frayn’s Nothing On was performed as part of the Shenandoah University academic year. As always I’m glad to be doing photography, not only for the Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre, but the Conservatory and Theatre departments.
When I was first asked to photograph the show, I couldn’t remember what it was about. I became nostalgic when I heard the lines for the spoof advertisement about sardines– I suddenly recalled that I had seen the movie starring Carol Burnett and Michael Caine in 1992. Oh, the memories!
Noises Off is filled with shenanigans and slapstick, and I was laughing through the entire performance. The shots, I think, speak for themselves.
